With the Third Symphony by James Barnes, the orchestra presents a cornerstone of the symphonic wind repertoire a musically complex and deeply emotional work.
Providing a captivating contrast is the “Scars Concerto,” which spotlights an instrument rarely heard in a solo role. Hans Nickel, longtime Principal Tuba of the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne and professor of his instrument, demonstrates the remarkable versatility and expressive range of the tuba.
