We are delighted to have secured Christian Segmehl, a top-class saxophone soloist, for the next working phase. He will perform the Rhapsody for Alto Saxophone by André Waignein with the Bläserphilharmonie Aachen.
Since October, the Bläserphilharmonie Aachen has been rehearsing its current program under the direction of Lars Corijn, with the motto “Warm & Cold”. In the two semester concerts on 13 and 14 December 2025, the varied program will take audiences from the warm spring to the depths of winter.
Last autumn, we began the search for a new musical director. We are pleased to announce that we have now found a new chief conductor in Senne La Mela. Following the trial conductings, he was selected by the orchestra from the final three candidates as the new chief conductor and will stand at our podium for the first time in October.
Ten years ago, on June 6, 2014, we performed our premiere concert in Lecture Hall 1 at RWTH Aachen. That is why this summer semester was dedicated to celebrating our tenth anniversary!
An exciting and successful year lies behind the Bläserphilharmonie Aachen. To conclude, the Bläserphilharmonie Aachen will perform its semester concerts on December 9 and 11 under the direction of Jos Simons.
After eight years together and 14 working phases, we have said goodbye to our musical director Tobias Haussig.
On the Whitsun weekend, we will be embarking on a concert trip to FIMU (Festival International de Musique Universitaire) in Belfort, France. FIMU is an annually held music festival organized jointly by the city of Belfort and students.
In the clarinet and tuba sections, there are still open seats on the stage in Aula 1 for the coming semester!
More information about us and the upcoming rehearsal phase can be found here:
After winning our gold medal in 2017, we will once again participate in the World Music Contest (WMC) in Kerkrade this year.
In our orchestra, the percussion section plays a central role. The marimba, for example, stands out with its full and mellow sound, which lays a sonorous foundation beneath the powerful sound of a symphonic wind orchestra.
Do you play clarinet, tuba, or double bass? There are still spots available in these sections for our upcoming rehearsal phase, which begins in October!
We also welcome applications from other instrumentalists at any time.
