The Orchestra
The Bläserphilharmonie Aachen is the first symphonic wind orchestra at the highest competition level in Aachen’s city centre. The orchestra of around 80 musicians focuses on demanding original literature for symphonic wind orchestra and organises two working phases per year, each with two concerts in Aachen.
Since its founding in 2013, the Bläserphilharmonie Aachen has undergone rapid development and has established itself as an ensemble in Aachen’s cultural landscape. Particular highlights were the two participations in the World Music Contest in 2017 and 2022 in Kerkrade, the most important competition for wind orchestras in the world. There, most recently in July 2022, the orchestra achieved a score of 90.00 points in the 1st competition division, winning a Gold Medal with Distinction.
Participation is open not only to students of Aachen’s universities, but to all musicians in the Aachen area. Those interested can register via this online form.
